SolarBee floating in Almaden Lake
SolarBees aerate the water to prevent methylmercury production by anerobic organisms living on the bottom. There are four SolarBees in the lake now at a cost of around $45,000 apiece.The first one was installed on May 20, 2006. They're also found in the Almaden and Guadalupe reservoirs.
